Top-down? On the Ground!

We have an idea of leadership that sees the ability to lead vested in those "at the top," whether that is the top of a food chain, a mountain, an ivory tower, etc., the same concept reigns--leadership is someone else's business, not mine, and the further away the better. But a concept from Catholic Social Teaching, Subsidiarity, compels us to think differently, locally, and immediately about leadership, in ways that not only asks more folks to be involved in leadership, but demands it out of charity.
